FAQs
What is the difference between coaching and therapy?
✨ Therapy often incorporates a diagnosis and healing
✨ Coaching builds what’s next and tends to guild the client in clarifying their goals, evolving identify and building confidence, balance, and self-trust.
Not sure what you need? I’m here to help you find the right path—whether it’s therapy, coaching or combination of both. I am always happy to refer you to another provider that fits what YOU need and are looking for.
Do you take insurance? HSA funds?
I try to make my pricing as low as possible while also keeping the business running and creating space for community events.
If price is a limiting factor please reach out and we can discuss a sliding scale.
Therapy and Medication management can be covered by HSA funds. Please check with your plan administrator regarding eligible expenses. I am also happy to write a superbill that you can submit for insurance.
Do you screen for postpartum mood disorders
As part of our commitment to providing supportive, appropriate care, all new clients who are in the perinatal or postpartum period will be invited to complete a brief screening tool called the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS). You have autonomy and can opt out of screening always.
The EPDS is a widely used and trusted questionnaire designed to gently assess symptoms of postpartum depression and anxiety. Dr Buxton is also qualified and comfortable treating perinatal mood disorders with medication and/or therapy.
Can you connect me to other postpartum services?
We maintain a trusted network of postpartum support providers, including additional therapists, nutritionists, doulas, lactation consultants, sleep specialists, pelvic PT providers, and community groups.
If additional support is needed during your journey, we will warmly connect you with resources to meet your needs.
Do you work with dads also? Couples?
YES! To BOTH!
Although our framework is matrescence-informed, we work with all parents — including fathers and non-birthing partners — to support the emotional, identity, and relational shifts that come with caregiving. Every parent’s transition matters here.
